Battle Plan No. 1 – Vacuum the stink bugs 

Grab hold of you hand-held vacuum or any vacuum and start sucking on any stink bugs that you see. However, do take note that the stink bugs will stink after being left in the vacuum bag. Make sure you clear these bugs and throw them into a plastic bag. After that, dispose them off just like your normal garbage. You need to make sure that you have two or more vacuum bags for replacement as they get stinky after having the stink bugs in there. 

Battle Plan No. 2 – Catch and kill 

Catch the stink bugs and put them into a jar filled with soap water. Be sure to wear gloves as these bug will release smelly odor when they sense any danger. This is their natural defense against predators. 

You can also use alcohol in place of soapy water to drown and kill these stink bugs. Just remember the seal of the jug is tight enough to prevent the sting bugs from crawling out. If you can’t wait to see them die, then just flush them down the toilet.

You may keep the bugs out for a couple of days or even weeks;  in the long-term, these stink bugs will find their way back.

Stink bugs are not native to the United States of America and hence they do not have many natural predators here. Some of the known predators for stink bugs are: praying mantis, spiders and birds. However, there is limitation to this method as these predators can only kill a small number of stink bugs. If your house is already infested with these bugs, then it may be too late to release these predators.

You can get rid stink bugs by applying a massive dose of pesticide. Do take note that this can only be done outdoor and not indoor as pesticide is considered as poisonous. 

In the age whereby organic farming is most welcome, applying a massive amount of pesticide will not be welcome by most farmers. Besides, the uncertainty of this application which may also impact other crops prevent most farmers from engaging this method.
